This sweet little blackbird is perched on an ear of corn and proudly displays an American flag in its beak. Hand carved from American Chestnut the wood grain flows perfectly with the shape of the bird and is visible as it peeks through the layers of paint. There are a few worm holes visible but just in the right places. Peter always says they add more character to the wood. The blackbird's feet are made from copper wire, textured and painted by the artist. The blackbird is easily removed from the ear of corn for shipping.
