This patriotic blackbird is perched on a piece of watermelon proudly displaying an American flag in its beak. Hand carved from American chestnut the wood grain peaks through the paint and is just awesome. There are a few worm holes visible on both the blackbird and the watermelon but they don't distract from the piece.
