This is truly an adorable pair of Cardinals lost in love. Enjoying a tender moment, beak to beak, the male Cardinal has his wing wrapped around his sweet girl. They are perched on a small distressed newel post that is painted an old green color with a white soft crackle finish. Attached to the front of the post is a primitive metal heart decoration. The male Cardinal has a small berry sprig under his foot and the wood grain is wonderful and there are a few visible worm holes in this carving.
